EHA Racing’s National 1000cc Superstock rookie Luke Hedger is edging ever closer to his maiden class podium, having taken impressive seventh and fourth placed finishes from the this weekend’s double-header at Oulton Park. He currently holds eighth place in the championship standings with just one race weekend remaining.
The penultimate round of the 2017 season threw up some inclement weather conditions, but the EHA Racing Aprilia mounted rider coped admirably, and is now gunning for that debut podium during the season finale at Brands Hatch in October.
The weekend started off slow, but we kept building throughout every session. We got faster, which of course is the plan, and I was happy with the two race positions. P7 and P4 gives me solid points and is good for my overall championship position. Now we look ahead to Brands, where I know we will carry on our good pace. I couldn’t do it without the whole EHA Racing team, Ian, my Dad, family, and all my sponsors who have stuck by me.
Gail Allingham – Team Manager:
Luke had a really positive weekend. He rode so well today to get that fourth place. It was a shame the first three had pulled away early in the race and the gap was just too big to close. We would still love to get Luke on the podium before the end of the season and with no Superstock races at Assen, we will have to give it our all at the last round at Brands Hatch. Thanks as always to our sponsors.
